Congratulations to my sister, Danielle for being named Miss Tea Rose 1st Runner-Up.
She also received an award for having the most community service hours, 1,318. Actually, I believe she may be up to 1,400 by now. She really enjoys volunteering her time. That volunteering spirit comes from our mother as she has always told us that "it doesn't matter how much knowledge you have, how much money you make or in my case how athletic I am, if people don't know how much you CARE!"
She constantly reminds us to give back to the community. Thats why I too am very active in the community and give of my time to mentor young boys and stress the importance of getting an education.
