Lyons attending Men of Tomorrow Seminar

Today's seminar topic was "Proper Hygiene and Dress For Success."
The Men of Tomorrow is a youth mentoring program sponsored by
Alpha Phi Alpha Fratenity. High school male students attend bi-weekly
meetings and seminars on various topic to assist us in growing into manhood.
Being from a single parent home, I learn a lot from the men of Alpha. I then
transfer what I learn from them to the elementary and middle school students
that I mentor.

Wayne Lyons named Old Spice Red Zone Player of the Year

I am proud to announce that I have been selected one of 50 "Old Spice Red Zone Players of the Year." This is truly an honor. Click on the title link above to see the announcement on MaxPreps.
How do you feel:
Inside the goal line with my back against the wall my survival instincts kick in. At that point I no longer feel any fatigue nor do I feel any pain. It is as if I turn into a crazy wrecking machine because my body turns numb and I no longer feel anything. I get the anger rage of a man ready to kill and nothing in the world could calm me down. All of my focus is then channeled to the running back or fullback depending on who I'm assigned to and also all of my pre play reads. Once the ball is snapped I tae my read and react at 100 mph.
How you elevate your team:
Inside the Red Zone I have a unique way of motivating my teammates. First before the play begins I make sure that they are mentally ready for the play to begin. I do that by jumping through the huddle, screaming and yelling like a mad man to get everyone's adrenaline pumping. I also dish out a couple of strikes to the defensive lines helmets to make sure that they are in battle mode. Once the play takes off is where I get really good at motivating. I am usually called on a blitz in the red zone and I charge the backfield and blast the ball carrier in the back field. Once the team hear the collision in the backfield and see me getting up off the top the intensity automatically rises. At that point the entire defense is motivated and ready to do what I just did.
